It’s almost time for the full game – but here’s the Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer trailer to plug the gap. Recently, Activision made everyone’s day by uploading the world premiere of the Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer trailer on Twitter – and what a fantastic trailer it is. It perfectly represents what’s coming when the full game is released on November 10th, from the remastered maps to the suite of weapons that’ll be available in-game.

It’s an impressive trailer for sure, and it feels like a trip down memory lane through and through. For the Call of Duty veteran, these instantly recognisable Modern Warfare 2 (2009) maps might not have been around for almost 15 years, but they’re still memorable. In just over a month, we’ll be diving back into them, and for once, the old-school Call of Duty fan might just have the edge over the young superstars that dominate the game.

There’s so much to take away from the trailer, it’s unreal. We’re shown the full end-to-end array of maps coming to Modern Warfare 3 on November 10th – all sixteen of them. We also get a key look at some of the larger maps that feature vehicles – including a range of all-new versatile troop transporters, tanks, helicopters, and boats. There are plenty of action sequences to soak up during the multiplayer trailer, too.

From monumental explosions caused by killstreaks to fast-paced, high-octane gunplay, Modern Warfare 3 seems to be ticking all those early boxes. It features some impressive-looking skins (for both weapons and Operators), and we’re getting a few sneak peeks at some of the finishers and new movement mechanics that are present in the game. For instance, slide cancelling is now a functional mechanic, and overall, everything seems to move a little faster.

This trailer is just the tip of the iceberg – on October 5th, live gameplay will be shown during COD NEXT, the showcase that’ll tell us everything we need to know about the immediate future of Call of Duty.

When Can You Play Modern Warfare 3?

Modern Warfare 3’s beta will run from the 6th to the 16th of October, but it’s being broken up into stages. It’ll go live on PlayStation first of all, with the latest stage being reserved for the open beta. Following the closure of the beta, there’s little more than a month to wait, as the full game will be released on November 10th.

However, if you pre-order the game, you’ll be granted early access to the campaign – which was the case for 2022’s Modern Warfare 2. So, if you want to get access to everything as soon as possible, there are a few boxes to tick – but it’s nothing too strenuous for the most devoted Call of Duty fans.
