With Bellwright, the makers of Last Oasis are launching a new attempt to wow with a giant medieval playground. And we know when it’s going to start.

Sharpen your axe or sword and polish your armor! Come December, any would-be warlords or rebellious ladies out there should be ready to march into the Middle Ages!

When is Bellwright coming? In December 2023, the title will be released (in Early Access on Valve’s platform, Steam). And in 2024, the medieval-survival-construction-strategy game is also scheduled for release on consoles.

What is Bellwright?

Bellwright wants to unite what is already fun separately and let you experience a rise from hunter or woodcutter to the ruler of entire lands with army. We introduced you to the title some time ago briefly. But in short, we will also explain here what you can expect from the game.

You start alone. But your goal is to command entire armies and rule over a constantly growing and prospering medieval city. To do this you will do the following:

Build and expand: Construct buildings, gather resources, and expand the city’s infrastructure to accommodate new settlers and meet their needs.

Survive: Master environmental challenges and fend off threats.

Build Alliances: Interact with other factions in the game, forge alliances and trade resources.

Uncover Secrets: Discover hidden secrets that give the opportunity to unlock new technologies and advantages.

By the way: Siege weapons are probably not yet available at the Early Access release, but according to the developers they are still to come.

Who is developing Bellwright?

The developers behind Bellwright are no strangers, unfortunately that includes negatives: Donkey Crew’s first project, after forming from a number of modders in the Mount and Blade community, Last Oasis

The title, to this day, after launching into Early Access in March 2020, has still not been released regularly and the (ratings on Steam are currently trending downward). Some directly accuse the developers of leaving the project and just moving on to new things

This doesn’t have to mean anything bad for Bellwright, but you should know the whole story if you are willing to give the medieval game a chance.

What do you say about Bellwright? Do you like the graphics? Did you try the demo at the recent Steam Next Fest? Do you think the developers are overreaching themselves with the approach they’ve taken from smallest to huge? Does the situation surrounding Last Oasis matter to you when you think of Bellwright? Feel free to write us your opinions in the comments!
