Leading twice and still losing: The Berlin eSports organisation BIG failed to qualify for the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals in the final of the Fall European Showdown.

On both Ancient and Anubis, they came close to defeating the competition twice! However, they still had to accept defeat in the end. BIG missed out last weekend on securing the final entry ticket to the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals in November.

The team around Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz met the competition of Cloud9 in the final of the European Showdown, which turned out to be too strong in the end. Nevertheless, the Berliners played well and led both Anbus and Ancient at times. Nevertheless, the capitals were unable to turn their leads into successes.

Good tournament, unhappy final

But for the final, BIG had a decent tournament showing. Both 9INE and ENCE were knocked out of the competition in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively. Cloud9 also defeated two well-known organisations, Movistar and G2 Esports. In the final, Cloud9 beat BIG 16-13 on Ancient and 16-12 on Anubis.

This year, the final round of the BLAST Premier will take place in Copenhagen next November.
