The rhythmic action adventure Hi-Fi Rush has now also reached the PlayStation 5, after it was already available on other platforms.

The Playstation 5 Pro only has a slight increase in CPU performance – but why? One leaker puts the reason down to a feature of the Playstation 6

After the latest leak about the Playstation 5 Pro, which supposedly claims to have published all the technical specifications of the upcoming console the configurations are already being diligently discussed.

Concretely, it’s about the performance boost of the CPU, which is somewhat less significant than originally expected with a ten percent increase in performance compared to the regular Playstation 5 (from 3.5 to 3.85 GHz in “High CPU Frequency Mode”).

The most important facts in brief

Processor of the Playstation 5 Pro clocks ten percent higher than the regular PS5 according to current leaks

Comparatively low performance increase is justified with the planned backwards compatibility of the Playstation 6

Sony requires at least the same clock speed of the PS6 processor for this, which limits the maximum possible clock speed of the PS5 Pro

The reason for the comparatively low increase in performance is probably due to the Playstation 6, as the usually well-informed Kepler_L2 explains on X/Twitter

Specifically, the planned backwards compatibility of the PS6 with the current generation is responsible for the mini upgrade.

According to Kepler_L2, Sony handles this backwards compatibility “very complex” and requires that the new hardware (in this case the PS6 processor) has at least the same clock rate as the old hardware (in this case the CPU of the PS5 Pro).

This also applies if the unknown chip of the Playstation 6 is faster at lower clock rates – the Playstation 5 Pro must not have a higher clock rate in this specific discipline under any circumstances.

Based on the Zen 6 processor currently rumored for the Playstation 6, Sony cannot therefore plan for four gigahertz (or higher) for the Playstation 5 Pro to meet the above condition and ensure backwards compatibility

Conversely, this also means that if it weren’t for the Playstation 6 and its backwards compatibility, the performance of the Playstation 5 Pro could have been significantly higher.

ttforms fans and critics alike. The game from Tango Gameworks is now available on the PlayStation Store.

Hi-Fi Rush tells the story of Chai, an ambitious wannabe rock star, and his disparate group of rebels who fight back against a tyrannical robotics corporation. However, their rebellion can only succeed if you move to the beat of the music. Your sense of rhythm is therefore crucial in the campaign. Because every punch, jump and evasive maneuver must be synchronized to the music.

In addition to the main game, the

PlayStation 5 version

offers all updates and modes added since the initial release. This includes the

“Arcade Challenge! Update “

, which provides players with new challenges and photo mode. After completing the main campaign, players can put their skills to the test in

“BPM RUSH “

 and

“Power Up! Tower Up!

” and strive for high scores.
For fans looking for the ultimate Hi-Fi Rush experience, the

Digital Deluxe Edition

is available. It includes the base game, additional cosmetic items and a gear starter pack for upgrades. Players can also expand their wardrobe with three separately available costume sets that offer additional outfits for the game

The surprise hit from January last year scored highly in both the community and the trade press with its gameplay and audio design. Hi-Fi Rush not only achieved very good ratings on Metacritic, but also made it onto over 50 “Best of 2023” lists and received recognition for its outstanding audio design at the Game Awards.

Hi-Fi Rush has been available for Xbox Series X/S, Windows PC and via Xbox Game Pass for a year and is one of the selected titles that Xbox is also making available for PlayStation 5. This had caused great concern in the Xbox community beforehand. You can read everything you need to know about this in the following message
