Fortnite is getting a few major crossover skins to coincide with its latest update. This is Fortnitemares though, so they’re all spooky and Halloween themed inclusions! Just because we’re focusing on the macabre though, doesn’t mean we aren’t getting more gaming icons coming as new skins. The Alan Wake Fortnite skin is one of these crossovers, but we’re getting more than just a simple skin.

The Alan Wake Fortnite crossover isn’t bringing in-game content, but in a way it’s something much cooler. We’re seeing parts of the original game recreated in Fortnite, for a full recap of who Alan Wake is.

Alan Wake Fortnite Flashback

Fortnite’s Creative mode has become home to a number of impressive experiences. We’re going way beyond the basic Fortnite prop hunt codes. Now we’re seeing entirely separate games in Fortnite. The Alan Wake Fortnite Flashback map is a way to experience the highlights of the original Alan Wake.

This is a brand-new creative experience that recaps the original plotline. You’ll progress through various environments which spells out the key points of the first Alan Wake game. It’s a surprisingly well rendered flashback, looking very similar to how you’ll remember Alan Wake. It is a much more abridged experience though. The full game isn’t getting put into Fortnite. However, it’s a decent chunk. It should be enough for players to get to know a bit more about the world Alan Wake is coming from.

There’s three different chapters which are available as part of the flashback. These tell the key points of the plot of the game. It’s condensed to around 20-30 minutes, but this is a decent experience to get up to speed before the skin hits the game.

These kinds of experiences are a unique way to doing crossovers. Epic’s bigger scope with UnrealFN is allowing these kinds of expansions.
