There are quite a few fighting game esports events coming up soon, but one of the widest this weekend is First Attack 2023. This will be a tournament featuring most of the biggest fighting games. We’ll see events for major fighters like SF 6 and Mortal Kombat 1, but also some tournaments for games that don’t get as much play like Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] and DNF Duel. What can you expect at First Attack 2023? This is how everything is going to work.
First Attack 2023 Preview
First Attack 2023 is the latest instalment in the longer-running tournament series. It’s kicking off on Friday 27 and running through to October 29th. Over the course of the weekend, we’ll see tournaments take place for 10 of the biggest fighting games.
A few of the games featured will be part of wider circuits with points at stake for the ongoing leaderboards. The Tekken World Tour has an event taking place here, plus the KoF XV tournament is part of the SNK World Championship.
Each game will be played in a similar format. We’ll see things start off in pools before the top players compete in a double-elimination bracket to find the very best players. The event is taking place in San Juan. These are the tournaments you can expect to see at First Attack 2023:

Those are all of the tournaments we’ll see at the First Attack 2023 tournament. There are quite a few major events here. While it isn’t part of the Capcom Cup, the SF 6 event definitely looks like one of the main events. Plus, there are exciting tournaments for some lesser-played games like Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom.
