After day two of the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 European RMR B, we’re deep into the action now. Teams are being eliminated and progressing, while others find themselves in particularly precarious positions. One such team is Astralis. We’re taking a look at the key highlights from day two, to find the best bits from a long day of Counter-Strike!

Astralis one match away from missing third Major in a row

Astralis, the team with the most Majors won in CS:GO, are at risk of missing their third in a row after failures at IEM Rio 2022 and BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023. Now finding themselves in the 1:2 bracket of the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 EU RMR 2, the team are just one game away from crashing out of the tournament. After the blockbuster signings of jabbi and stavn for Heroic, it would be a pure catastrophe of the highest order to miss out once more. Especially with their recent failure at IEM Katowice 2024, too.

In the 1:1 bracket, Astralis faced off against Heroic, their old rivals. It was comprehensive for Heroic, taking the best-of-one match on Mirage in easy 13:7 fashion. The difference on the server ultimately came down to a huge underperformance from stars dev1ce, jabbi, and stavn, as well as a clinic from NertZ who went 24-9 on Heroic’s side. If Astralis are going to qualify and avoid disaster, it needs to start with Monte tomorrow.

MOUZ make the Major

MOUZ have done it. After being drawn against Spirit in the 2:0 bracket, many felt MOUZ would have to wait one more day before confirming their qualification for the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024. After all, who could stop donk? Well, as it turns out, MOUZ. They seemed to figure out what makes donk so good at CS2, and learnt to counter it perfectly. This was no fluke here – MOUZ took the series 2:0, and showed great mental strength in tough moments.

It was a fantastic performance overall for MOUZ, but especially from IGL siuhy. It’s easy to forget that siuhy was in the Final of the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 with GamerLegion, and he showed just why here, leading from the front with a brilliant series of topfragging. Now, MOUZ can put their feet up and watch the rest of the RMR without worry. For Spirit, they’ll have another shot at qualification against Heroic.

dupreeh’s Major hunt rolls on

Throughout CS:GO, dupreeh was the only player to attend every single Major. It’s a staggering achievement, and one that he remains in the hunt to maintain in CS2. After going 0:2, it was feared that his Preasy team were on the road to nowhere. However, they bounced back on day two of the EU RMR B, reverse-sweeping PERA in a series they’ll be disappointed to have dropped a map.

For Preasy, dupreeh was certainly one of the heroes. Credit must also be given to TMB and refrezh, both of whom came up clutch on the final map to keep dupreeh’s record alive for the time being. It won’t be easy for Preasy if they want to stay further. They’ve got Guild Eagles in the 1:2 bracket, and even then, their place is still not secure if they pass that test. It’s going to be a long road if dupreeh is to make it to the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, but if anyone can do it, it’s him.

Here’s the full set of results from the latest day of action at the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 European RMR B:
