Just a day after their BLAST Premier Fall Final 2023 disaster, Astralis have confirmed the signings of jabbi and stavn from Heroic. It’s a dual transfer that has been mired in controversy, with the Heroic CS2 roster drama seeing the end of one the best teams in the game. Ultimately, the lure of four-time Major winners Astralis proved too much for the duo.

As part of the move, Astralis have announced that Buzz and b0RUP have been benched with immediate effect.

Denmark’s Top Talents

There’s no doubt that jabbi and stavn are two of the top talents in Counter-Strike. Previously, jabbi made his name at Copenhagen Flames, before being hand-picked as the final piece to the Heroic puzzle. He took a short while to adapt, but once he did, Heroic became a force to be reckoned with.

Then there’s stavn. He’s been touted as the best Danish talent for years, delivering for Heroic in star roles. The only concern around him surrounds his performance in Playoffs, with accusations of going missing in the big moments. If he can overcome this, then Astralis’ core is set for years to come.

Buzz and b0RUP Benched

It will come as no surprise to anyone that b0RUP was benched from Astralis – not even himself. Despite playing support roles, he hasn’t looked up to standard since he joined in June.

However, the benching of Buzz is a surprise. While Astralis’ CS2 collapse meant something had to change, most felt it was Staehr who would make way. He has had better roles than Buzz, yet performed worse. Astralis’ long pursuit of Staehr from Sprout earlier this year might have been the deciding factor. If he can find his form from Sprout, it could prove to be the right move.
