The new update for the hit role-playing game brings a whole bunch of new features and improvements, and yes, of course it also fixes a lot of bugs

Baldur’s Gate 3 is and remains a hot topic – not least because developer Larian is still busy pushing out further updates even months after the release.

Patch 6 has now been released. And how could it be otherwise with this role-playing colossus? The list of changes, improvements and bug fixes is huge – we counted a total of 1,010 changes!

The highlights of patch 6 for Baldur’s Gate 3

The approximately 21 GB large update requires a whopping 150 GB of free disk space on your system.

Remember the good old tip: If necessary, it is faster to uninstall the game and download it again, because then the latest version will land directly on your computer.

The following highlights are included in Patch 6:

Dismiss companions: In future, you can dismiss a previous companion by talking to your new partner of choice. No more time-consuming back and forth in camp!

Your avatar in focus: In automatically triggered dialogue sequences, the game will now prioritize your avatar as the main character. This means that your party members will no longer be in the spotlight just because they happen to be the first to enter a room.

New camp animations: In your camp, some of your companions will now pass the time with new activities to offer more variation in everyday camp life.

(Even) Better kissing: Patch 6 will improve lip contact when kissing. Larian already gave us a foretaste of the result in a tweet a few days ago:

Love is in the air in Faerûn, and we’ve made improvements to locking lips with your romantic partner!

Skill comebacks:  “Shield Bash” and “Rebuke of the Mighty” have been fixed and are returning to the game. They should now work as intended.

Legendary actions in Honor mode: Patch 6 should make the mode even more difficult, as some bosses will receive additional special abilities to give you even more heat.

Bug fixes: Hundreds of minor and major bugs are being addressed to make Baldur’s Gate 3 an even smoother gaming experience.

If you have three or four hours to spare, you can read the complete changelog on the next page. We’ll have to rest our eyes for a while after all the changes and new features

Are you happy with Patch 6? Or, despite over 1,000 changes, are there still aspects of the game that you think need to be addressed urgently? If so, what are they and what exactly bothers you? Have you already played through the campaign six times? Let us know in the comments!
