In addition to starter decks and booster sets, there are another type of card type in the Digimon TCG. Promos. Digimon promos are cards usually given out as bonus cards at events or with product purchases.

These cards, with a product tag “P-XXX” are often foil cards that help bolster individual archetypes, or are generic cards that see widespread play in multiple decks. Our list compiles the best Digimon promos released or announced for the English version of BT14. The cut-off will be P-130, as it is the most recently announced Promo eligible in the newest Ultimate Cup rulings.

The Most Widespread Staples

Individually, they may not be the most impactful promos, but these next 2 see the most widespread use.

Color Memory Boosts are seen in many decks due to their ability to search for 4 cards on a low cost. Not being tamers, they don’t play into DeathXmon or Quartzmon’s win conditions. Their Delay effect allows them to be sent to trash to give the user 2 memory. To play around them, use memory floodgates like BT6-021 ModokiBetamon or BT3-061 Chuumon. These cards were introduced sparingly but saw reprints in the Gallantmon & UlforceVeedramon Starter Decks, and again in RB01.

The new Training cards, debuting as Box Toppers in BT14 search only 2 cards for 2 cost. But unlike Memory boosts, can pick up Option cards and Tamers alongside Digimon. When using its delay effect, you must Digivolve into a card of the matching color, with a reduced cost of 2. The ability to pick up anything and the comparative lack of floodgates made them playsets in most decks in the East.

Strongest Digimon Promos

P-025 GranKuwagamon is likely the strongest individual Promo. It’s a crucial part of the Grandis OTK engine. This card’s Digi Burst would allow it swing for 3 checks. GrandisKuwagamon evolves over it 1 for cost, and facilitate the remaining checks, often with Piercing thanks to P-075 Okuwamon. Without it, the line becomes more expensive and much slower. The current ban list limits this card.
P-077 Wizardmon is a recurrable play extender in Beelzemon. It gains 1 memory on mill, but as a Digimon, this means it can be added back from trash with Rivals Barrage. Its inherit effect also allows for rigging the mill by placing a card from your hand to deck top.

P-091 Saberdramon has both Raid and Retaliation, hunting down boss monsters with little effort.
