Every fan in the world is sitting on the edge of their seat following the news that Call of Duty 2023 could be revealed in August. It’s a little later than is typical for a Call of Duty reveal, but it’s still good news – it could mean that we’re all about to escape Modern Warfare 2’s clutches and potentially move on to greener pastures. It has been reported that Call of Duty 2023 – whatever that may be – will be revealed around August 1st – but that may be a placeholder date at present.

Further to that claim, it was also suggested that the development of the next Call of Duty game will be led by Sledgehammer Games. That’s something that should not be taken lightly, as Sledgehammer hasn’t got the greatest track record. It’s responsible for the creation of Call of Duty: Vanguard, after all. It certainly seems that Call of Duty 2023 will be a full-fledged, premium release, too – not a spin-off, as it was previously thought – and it’ll also reportedly feature a wave-based COD Zombies mode.

Amazing News, For Now

The potential date for the reveal – and subsequent dates detailing Call of Duty 2023’s beta dates, early access, and even a release date were disclosed by sources close to Insider Gaming. In this report, it’s claimed that the first beta for the game will commence on October 6th, while the full release of the game will arrive on November 10th, 2023.

This is fantastic news for the best Call of Duty players the world over, but it’s important to play it safe for now. In the last few years, fans have been bitten too many times by new Call of Duty titles, and this situation should be considered a threat until the game is safely being played by the end users and – more importantly – they’re enjoying it. It’s no big secret that Modern Warfare 2 suffered from some negative press at launch, and Warzone 2.0 was a buggy mess when it dropped in November 2022.

For now, there’s nothing more to be disclosed regarding the all-new title. There’s no Call of Duty 2023 gameplay, and there likely won’t be until a month or so after the reveal takes place in August. It’s traditional to drop a reveal trailer that’s eventually followed up with some in-game footage, so if you’re holding out for Call of Duty 2023 gameplay, you’ll need to certainly wait a few months longer.

It’s still good news, though – we didn’t even expect there to be a new Call of Duty in 2023, so this is nothing but a win.
