These are the minimum requirements for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3.
Activision has released the official system requirements for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 . The good news: you will probably be able to play the game even on old hardware. The bad news: You’ll still have to stream high-resolution textures instead of downloading them.
These are the system requirements
If you want to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 with minimal settings and only in multiplayer mode, then slightly older hardware will suffice.
Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i3 6100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200
RAM: 8 GByte
Memory: SSD with 79 GByte free memory for CoD HQ and multiplayer mode; 34 GByte if CoD HQ is already installed
Hi-Rez-Assets Cache: 32 GByte
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 / GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 470
Graphics memory: At least 2 GByte
Unfortunately, Activision does not specify which resolution and frame rate is targeted (Furthermore, another specification disappoints many gamers): 32 GBytes of free memory are to be kept free as cache for high-resolution textures.

What does the Hi-Rez-Assets Cache do? In the past, there were a lot of complaints due to the huge download size of Call of Duty. To get rid of the problem, the developers decided to stream high-resolution textures only to the players – so they don’t have to be downloaded anymore.
The problem with this: The permanent streaming takes up internet bandwidth and can lead to micro-stutters and increased latency. Many players therefore wish for an option to simply download the textures again.
This doesn’t seem to be available in CoD MW3 either, since at least 32 GBytes of memory have to be reserved for high-resolution textures for all system configurations.
Texture streaming can be deactivated in the settings, but the game then looks correspondingly worse.
Competitive gamers have to dig a bit deeper into their pockets for the graphics card:
Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
RAM: 16 GByte
Memory: SSD with 149 GByte free memory / 78 GByte if CoD HQ and Warzone are already installed
Hi-Rez-Assets Cache: 64 GByte
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080 / RTX 4070 or AMD Radeon 6800 XT
Graphics memory: At least 10 GByte
The requirements mentioned here are necessary if you want to play the game in 4K Ultra or at a high frame rate. What FPS number is targeted is not known.
Activision also reserves the right to adjust system requirements in the future and that more memory may be required for further updates.
What about Intel graphics cards? There is no mention of them in the system requirements, but even with the Intel Arc A380 you should be able to play the game with minimum settings. This is about as powerful as an Nvidia GTX 1650.
When will Call of Duty Modern Warfare III be released? The game will be released here on November 10 at 06:00 in the morning. The preload is now available.
Will you be picking up the new Call of Duty? What do you think about the system requirements of Modern Warfare 3? Is your PC ready for the game? And what is your opinion on streaming high resolution textures? Do you think it’s a good thing or should Activision offer players the option to download the textures? As always, write it to us in the comments!
