If you want to quickly catch up on the CBLOL Split 1, here’s everything you need to know about the Brazilian league for the 2024 season.
CBLOL 2024 Split 1 – Introduction
The CBLOL 2024 Split 1 is the fifth split of Brazil’s professional League of Legends league under partnership and the seventeenth split since the creation of the league. A total of 10 teams are gathered to determine the best Brazilian team. Below is the list of the organizations taking part in this split:
Fluxo
FURIA
INTZ
KaBuM! Esports
Liberty
Los Grandes
LOUD
paiN Gaming
RED Canids
Vivo Keyd Stars
The format
The 10 teams are competing in a double round robin where all matches are best of one. The top six teams at the end of the regular split will advance to the playoffs while the bottom four teams will be splitting a total of R$ 70,000 Brazilian Reais.
The expectations and teams
The Brazilian league is known to have some top teams, such as LOUD, paiN Gaming and KaBuM!, and most of them are maintaining the expectations set. By combining some of the best domestic talents with Korean imports, the teams are looking to show their worth once they get to the international stages.
That said, not all teams are having a great time with their imports: jungler Mir and top laner Destroy were dropped by FURIA and the team brought in new domestic blood with the hopes of turning the split around.
Aside from the top three, we also have Vivo Keyd Stars, led by former Rogue coach SeeEl. While they are competing at the top, the team is changing the mid lane, as Toucouille will be taking a break from competitive. We’ll see whether it will impact the team’s potential going forward.
Other teams are trying to give the spotlight to new talents and rising rookies but the results are quite lacking. They will probably need more time to get things going so Split 1 will just be a learning experience for them.
The split still has 3 weeks left as it will end on March 17. Once the top teams are locked in, the Split 1 playoffs will kick off on March 22.
