The team behind the city-building simulation has revealed some interesting details about their game. Among other things, which features will still be missing for the time being
In about two months, Cities: Skylines 2 will be released and many city builders are already scratching their…well, hooves won’t be, but maybe their PC mice? In any case, it seems that the construction game will be extremely big. This is proven, among other things, by the weekly developer videos, which present heaps of new features.
However, some features will still be missing at launch. A feature that is particularly important for many fans has also fallen victim to the red pen: industrial fishing. Nevertheless, there is hope, as the development team hints to us.
Fish can breathe a sigh of relief – for now
Until now it was not officially known whether fishing is one of the possible sources of revenue or trade in Cities: Skylines 2. We remember: Already in the first part, this feature was added with the Sunset Harbour DLC almost five years after release.
We checked with the Colossal Order team: Friends of the cultivated Petri heil! will also have to be strong in the sequel: For the time being, no scales will be bent on fish. Your industries are therefore still limited to forestry, agriculture and mining at launch.
Nevertheless, there is reason for vague hope: And vage is to be taken literally here, for we are now treading the highly fickle path of speculation and interpretation. So put on your sturdy shoes!
When asked if fishing will be included in Cities: Skylines 2, the team had this to say:
There will be no fishing industry in Cities: Skylines 2, at least not yet!
You see that? A wink smiley! As owners of an internet driving licence, we can say from experience that this smiley is often used when something is implied. Let’s not beat around the bush: It’s very possible that Cities: Skylines 2 will still cast the nets at a later date.
How great is your anticipation for Cities: Skylines 2? Are there any pressing unanswered questions that are still of immense importance to your city-building ambitions? Are there still residual doubts? Or is your building game ticket already solved one way or the other and you can hardly wait for the release in October? Feel free to write us your opinion in the comments!
