Before the new Call of Duty launches in November, you have the opportunity to test the game during a beta phase. You can find out when it starts and how you can take part here.

Slowly but surely the hype train around the new Call of Duty is gaining momentum. The release is not far off and the developers are constantly fuelling the anticipation within the community with new information and revelations about Modern Warfare 3

Just in time for the opening of gamescom, publisher Activision has now announced that Modern Warfare 3 will go through an open beta test before its release on 10 November

When will the beta start?

The beta is scheduled to launch after the upcoming CoD Next a Call of Duty showcase, which will take place virtually on 5 October. The event is expected to focus on MW3, Warzone and CoD Mobile

However, the beta will not start at the same time for all CoD fans. There is – as every year – a complicated schedule with a total of four phases:

6 to 7 October: Exclusive pre-order access on PlayStation.

8. to 10. October: Open Beta exclusively on PlayStation without pre-ordering

12 to 13 October: Pre-order access for PC and Xbox (pre-order), Open Beta on PlayStation.

14 to 16 October: Open Beta for all (PC, Xbox and PlayStation) without pre-order

How can I participate?

In principle, the Modern Warfare beta is open to all CoD fans. However, if you have a beta code, you can get started a little earlier. The easiest way to get such a key is to pre-order (Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3). Pre-orderers will get the code automatically. However, those who still want to hold on to their money will also be able to play the beta.

What else was new?

During the opening show of gamescom, Activision already revealed the first 10 minutes of the campaign of MW3. The video of the mission Operation 627 made some jaws drop with its atmospheric stealth gameplay at our GlobalESportNews office. Best have a look for yourself:

The new Call of Duty is scheduled for release on November 10 for the PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, as well as Xbox One and Series X/S. All important information on Modern Warfare 3 can be found in our Hub article in the link box. This will be constantly updated until the release.
