Colombian professional deceased

Just a few months ago, Vitality player Karel “Twisten” Asenbrener took his own life due to depression, now comes the next bad news for the Valorant scene. With Santiago “Daveeys” Ruiz, another scene celebrity has passed away.

Santiago “Daveeys” Ruiz has passed away as a result of a decompensation, as his eSports organisation KRÜ Esports announced via X.com/Twitter.

This is a condition where the body of an affected person is no longer able to regulate or heal infections or diseases on its own.

“It is with deep sadness that we have to inform you that Daveeys21 passed away after decompensating on Sunday. There is no way to sugarcoat this, it took us all by surprise. Daveeys, Santi, was a spectacular player and a first class teammate. With his characteristic hardworking humility, he was proud to be able to inspire and represent his country and region at the top of the global VALORANT. It was his dream and he saw it come true. All of us at KRÜ are with her family and friends at this difficult moment and ask the entire community to support her with their strength and love,” KRÜ said on Twitter/X.com.

Es con profunda tristeza que tenemos que comunicarles que, tras sufrir una descompensación el domingo, falleció @Daveeys21

No hay forma de suavizar esto, nos tomó a todos por sorpresa.

Daveeys joined the eSports organisation founded by Sergio Agüero at the end of October. Before that, he worked for smaller teams and was able to celebrate some success with LazerKlan or later E-xolo’s LAZER, among others. With his move to KRÜ, he wanted to take the next step in his career. At the 2023 Championships, however, the team did not manage to finish between 13th and 16th place. At least they secured prize money of 20,000 US dollars.
