The developers announce a collaboration with a cab app. This causes a lot of confusion among fans

The Day Before is simultaneously one of the most anticipated and one of the most criticized upcoming releases. Originally scheduled for release in 2021, the open-world survival game was postponed several times and is now likely to arrive this December.

However, questionable working conditions, a dispute with a calendar app and promises that simply sound too good still mean that many players only trust the developers to a limited extent. A partnership with a cab app is now causing even more raised eyebrows

Cooperation causes confusion

On Twitter (now called X) and their own Discord server, the developers of The Day Before recently announced a collaboration with the cab company Indrive:

THE DAY BEFORE X INDRIVE collaboration!@indrive is an international ride-hailing service headquartered in California. It’s the second-largest ridesharing and cab app worldwide by downloads.

As shown in the short video, we can discover cars emblazoned with the Indrive logo in the world of The Day Before. On the Discord server, however, the developers promise that the cooperation will result in even more than prominently placed advertising for the cab company. This is what it says:

This cooperation will bring something unique and exciting for our users.

How exactly the collaboration with Indrive will affect players is not specified. In the comments to the tweet and (in the subreddit) from The Day Before, fans are also rather confused and wonder how the cab company and the game are connected.

Important Stuff?

Many of them assume that in the end it’s all about paid advertising, which wouldn’t be surprising in such a cooperation. The user (cadfoot) also points out that both Fntastic and Indrive were founded in the city of Yakutsk and that there could therefore also be personal connections.

Whatever the unique and exciting thing about the cooperation is, we will probably find out on December 7, when The Day Before is expected to launch in Early Access. Until then, the survival game will probably remain a mystery.

What do you think of The Day Before? Do you think the developers will meet the target release date and actually deliver a high-quality survival game in December? Or are you convinced that it will be a big disappointment? And what do you think of the cab advertisement? Let us know your opinion in the comments!
