It’s been a long day of competition at the M5 World Championship and the finals are right around the corner. After today’s games, Deus Vult’s Mathaios “Kid Bomba” Chatzilakos expressed how proud he is with his team after pulling off a reverse sweep to eliminate Cambodia’s See You Soon in the lower bracket quarterfinals of the M5 World Championship.
Deus Vult showed how composed they were even if they were down by two games to nothing in the series. Kid Bomba shared his thoughts in the post match interview when he was asked about their miracle run to keep the hopes of Russia taking home the M5 World Championship crown alive.
“I’m just so proud of my team. We’re better than every region except for, I mean right now, except for Indonesia and Philippines. Like, the best region, I’m just so proud of them and it’s my first time here, too. And we already made it here to top five.”
Teamwork makes the dream work
Three different players from Deus Vult grabbed the MVP honors for this series, proving how exemplary they are as a team and as individual players.
Kemiran “Sunset Lover” Kochkarov’s Lilia in game three topped all players in kills, Eduard “Magistor” Rukosuev performed very well with his Guinevere pick in game four, and Carl “Carvi” Tino’s Ixia pick bagged him the MVP title in game five.
See You Soon as a legit world championship-caliber contender
Kid Bomba also cited their opponent’s impressive performance in M5, particularly in their match where See You Soon was already up by two to nothing in the best-of-five series lower bracket quarterfinal.
“See You Soon was great. They beat us 2-0 and they made it like two quick games. I think they have so much potential to do a lot and they’re just a great team. Cambodia has been like very bad in the past, but what they have done to show us (that) there’s so many good players also in Cambodia. They should be proud of themselves even if it wasn’t enough today.”
