VALORANT has completed 3 years since its launch. During this time, we have seen multiple updates and patches that have changed the game in the form of better graphics, more maps, and new agents. There has been one feature, however, that many fans and professional players have been asking for years now — a replay system in VALORANT.
With the official launch of VALORANT in China, many noticed there is a version of a replay system in the game. In this article, we will be taking a look at whether VALORANT has a Replay System.
Does VALORANT have a Replay System?
A replay system allows you to go back and record any sick plays or pop-offs you might have had in a game that would be lost otherwise unless you have a third-party clipping program like shadowplay running in the background.
VALORANT currently doesn’t have a replay system in the international version of their game. Most games don’t have one when they launch and Riot’s FPS was no exception. After its release, it became immediately clear that the community wanted a replay system. With numerous calls for its addition to the game, Riot Games finally commented on if it’s coming to the game.
In a Reddit post, u/RiotZulu replied regarding the launch of the replay system in VALORANT. They said that the company is working on one, but it has been “more challenging” than initially thought. One of the challenges that the developer mentioned is with storing the replays.
“We’re still going to bring you a replay system. And absolutely, the process of adding the system has been more challenging than we initially thought. We are being thoughtful in how we balance its development alongside new game modes, features, and other content, so we can make sure to deliver a great, consistent experience for all.”
When will it be released?
It must be stated that it took 3 years for Overwatch to launch an inbuilt replay system in the game. The story is a bit different for the Chinese version of the game, though.
During the VALORANT China announcement, a new feature called Fearless Moment was revealed. This feature would easily allow players to track their stats as well as clip their highlights from games. There is another use for “Fearless Moment” and that is to act as a stat tracker as well.
Riot hasn’t commented on whether this will ever be coming to the global version of the game. However, u/RiotZulu said that the company couldn’t promise that the system would be released in 2023. Hopefully, fans will get to see it coming in 2024.
