Fortnite is in a popular update right now, with the return to Fortnite OG bringing back loads of older content to the game. While we’ve seen record player counts for Fortnite OG, the tournament side of the game is a bit quieter. Epic’s FNCS series wrapped up last season, but we still have major events. The biggest of these might be DreamHack Fortnite 2023, a Winter event to finish up the year’s tournaments.

DreamHack Fortnite 2023 events have been fun side events so far this year. They’ve been a nice contrast to the longer-running FNCS, with modes for games like Zero Builds featured prominently. The DreamHack Fortnite 2023 Winter event is going to be a bit different though. This is how the upcoming tournament is going to work.

DreamHack Fortnite 2023 Winter Tournament

DreamHack Winter has a few big tournaments running across different games. The Fortnite event will be a nice addition to this roster. It’s taking place over November 24 to 26 and there’s a decent prize pool up for grabs. Players can earn a part of the $10,000 prize in the tournament. Since there are not too many Fortnite OG events, this is a rare chance to see the best Fortnite players compete in this fun version of the game.

The tournament is going to be running in standard Battle Royale, so we can expect plenty of builds. It’s played in Duos too. Anyone can take part in the tournament provided they’re old enough. Although, we’ll likely expect some of the bigger names in competitive Fortnite to show up.

The scoring system for the DreamHack Fortnite 2023 event is simple. Players are getting points for placement, and 5 points per elimination. It’s an old-fashioned scoring system one that perfectly suits Fortnite OG.

What Season is it Played on?

Fortnite OG’s most interesting factor might have been cycling through past seasons so quickly. This tournament is going to be played on a joint Season 9/X. If you’re a long-term fan, this is a particularly fun build. It’s the version of the game that saw the Fortnite World Cup take place, an early highlight for competitive Fortnite. It’ll be fun to revisit this style of the game for this tournament.
