The European Tekken Cup has just been unveiled, a regional tournament for the fighting game where players are competing to be the top player in Europe! The European Tekken Cup 2023 is going to be returning in July and running all the way through to December. This is one of the biggest tournaments for one of the best fighting games, and definitely worth watching to see who is the best in 2023.

Bandai Namco has just unveiled a load more details for the European Tekken Cup 2023, an event with a decent prize pool but a few differences from the international Tekken World Tour. This is how it’s going to work and when you can start watching these events.

How Will the Tekken Cup 2023 Work?

The Tekken Cup 2023 is a European-only event! Unlike the World Tour, this is limited to a single region. It’s specifically for France, Benelux, Spain, Italy, UK, Ireland, D.A.CH, Poland, and Nordic regions.

The event is a collection of fighting tournaments where players compete to rise up an ongoing leaderboard. The majority of the circuit are other tournaments which form part of an ongoing event. Aside from the Finals, which are a dedicated event.

Those who make it to the top will secure a spot at the climax, the European Tekken Cup Finals. Here there’s a $25,000 prize pool on offer. It isn’t quite the level of the World Tour, but as a regional tournament, this is a major addition. Players can participate by signing up via the Tekken esports portal.

Format and Tournaments

What events can players actually participate in to get to the Finals though? The tournament has a lot in common with the TWT here. The events that are contributing to this ongoing leaderboard are also World Tour events. Dojo events taking place in Europe can be part of this circuit too. Players competing in Europe to reach the Finals for that circuit will be automatically clocking up points for the European World Tour too if they’re signed up.

This event is going to see Tekken get an extra circuit and add a bit more tension to each of the European fighting game esports events. With this running for the next few months, we’ll see even more players jumping into Tekken at these wider tournaments.
