On October 17th, Halo Infinite’s fifth season will kick off, bringing a host of fresh content and some interesting updates. Mostly, the gaming community has written off Halo Infinite, but there’s a core community within the game that remains a stalwart presence. It has been almost two years since Halo Infinite was released, and while it hasn’t had the best journey, it is still somewhat alive – and that’s impressive, given the circumstances.
Tomorrow, on October 13th, the Halo World Championship tournament will begin. So, whether you’re an esports fan or just a casual Halo player, there’s something to be excited about for everyone involved. Halo’s Fifth Season is Sizeable
Once upon a time, there was a record-long gap between seasons, and the majority of the Halo community backed away from Infinite for fear of the game dying a miserable death. Now that these content updates have become much more regular, the fans have a little more faith in the developers at 343 Industries, but it’s still tentative ground. So, what’s coming in the Reckoning update for Halo Infinite?
Firstly, there’s the stock-standard, 50-rank battle pass – and the free 20-tier battle pass on the side. For those looking to invest in the premium option, it’ll cost 1000 credits to purchase, but in true battle pass form, there will also be the option to unlock 1000 credits simply by completing the battle pass. Therefore, while playing through Reckoning, you’ll earn enough credits to buy whatever battle pass comes next season.
All-new Operations are coming this season, too, along with a 20-tier ‘reward track’ that can be completed across any game mode. For those who want a little extra spice, there’s the option to upgrade to a premium tier for 500 credits. Here are the core Operations coming this season, with their dates:
Combined Arms – November 14th
Winter Contingency III – December 19th

A Long Season
It’s a long season and it all kicks off on October 17th, but what else is coming for the fans that are still connected to the game?
There will be two new (read: returning) game modes in Halo Infinite – fan-favourite modes, at that. With the season five update, players will get access to Extraction and Firefight King of the Hill. The latter mode will arrive as part of a mid-season update, ensuring players keep engaged throughout the lengthy season itself.
There are also two new maps coming with Reckoning – Prism and Forbidden. They’re new and original and haven’t ever been seen before in the Halo series.
Finally, there’s an intelligent ‘AI toolkit’ headed to Halo Infinite’s Forge, which is an interesting injection of innovative for those who like to while away the hours building their owns maps and such. With this, creators will be able to insert AI-based enemies and friendly characters into whatever they create.
