EWC Club Program Launching

The EWC Club Program is a new system coming from the Esports World Cup Foundation. They’re a group who try to further the reach of esports worldwide. Esports World Cups have seen boosted investment in recent years. Their headline program is the Esports World Cup, an international competition for all areas of esports. However, the Club Program is something looking at boosting more individual clubs. The program will boost the visibility of clubs to help them grow fanbases, but also attract more sponsors.

The new program is a fresh chance for individual clubs to get involved in the world of the foundation. It’ll see 28 different clubs picked and chosen to foster the growth of esports. The aim is to allow these clubs to grow in new and emerging esports titles, along with getting a wider international audience for the clubs.

The Clubs included in the program are being chosen in two ways. There’s an initial batch which have been chosen and invited. However, another set will be chosen through applications. Clubs can submit their applications to be a part of the EWC Club Program until February 15. Only six are coming through application. However, the invited clubs will flesh out the program so 28 in total are featured.

What Do Clubs in the Program Get?

That’s how the EWC Club Program will chose its participants, but what the accepted clubs receive for their participation. The program is trying to help draw viewership and engagement for these clubs. They’ll receive resources to help with this but also an incentive. Depending on their participation in the World Cup, they’ll also receive part of a six-figure fund established to support these clubs. The EWC is aiming to help clubs grow in esports too.

The clubs involved in the EWC will get access to training programs to try and help them qualify for the full Esports World Cup. Although, a slot isn’t guaranteed. The World Cup is covering games like StarCraft II and CS:GO, but also going further in including titles. It’ll ensure there’s a mix of clubs represented in this program.

They’ll need to earn that like everyone else involved in the World Cup. This will definitely help add more variety to the teams in the cup though. It’s great to see the grassroots of esports getting supported in such a big way by the EWC Foundation too.
