The upcoming sci-fi role-playing game relies on experienced developers. Certain Affinity, who have already worked on Doom, Halo, Left 4 Dead and other major games, are now on board

We introduced you to

Exodus a while ago: It will be a sci-fi role-playing game about space travel, the struggle for humanity’s survival, a crew of humans and aliens, and the consequences of our choices

Sounds like Mass EffectOh yes, Exodus should be a serious contender for Bioware. Especially as some former employees of the legendary studio are on board.

Numerous experienced developers are working on the game, who have jointly founded the new studio Archetype Entertainment. As has now been published in a press release   well-known and highly experienced co-developers are also on board: Certain Affinity.

What Certain Affinity has already worked on

Even if the name of the studio doesn’t immediately ring a bell, chances are you’re very familiar with their work. The independent studio has worked on many well-known (shooter) brands, including:

Halo (multiple parts)

Call of Duty (several parts)

World of Tanks

Hogwarts Legacy

Doom (2016, multiplayer)

Left 4 Dead

The studio specializes in action games and there will be no shortage of shooting in Exodus – after all, you will be entering an extremely dangerous universe

The CEO of Certain Affinity, Max Hoberman, is excited about Exodus, which they have been secretly working on since 2022:

As one of the world’s leading independent studios, we’ve worked on a lot of great games, but none compare to this exciting new sci-fi brand, Exodus. Our mission is to add value throughout development and support efforts to bring this amazing storytelling experience to players around the world.

Exodus has some exciting ideas that should set it apart from its genre peers. You can find out exactly how this is to be achieved and why time jumps will play an important role in the story in the preview linked above.

We’ve also included all the information we know about the next Mass Effect. When will we be able to play it all? That’s written in the stars: Neither ME5 nor Exodus have a release date yet.
