At first, it was Astralis. Then, it was Vitality. This time, it was tournament holders G2 who stumbled against ENCE as they charged their way to a spot in the IEM Katowice 2024 Playoffs. It’s a Cinderella story that just keeps on rolling, with gla1ve’s resurgence alongside his Polish squad one of the best CS2 narratives of the year so far. No team seems safe as these hometown heroes continue to put on a show in Katowice.



After the final round was complete, you could see what it meant to ENCE. They’re going to the Spodek to play in front of an arena of adoring fans in their own country, with the Polish passion combined with gla1ve’s tactical mind for CS proving a near perfect combination. Let’s hope they can maintain their impressive form on the big stage.

Favorites Vitality fall to Heroic

Another favorite falls. Vitality, the team top of our IEM Katowice 2024 power rankings, have been swiftly dumped from the Group Stage of the competition. It was a hard-fought battle with Heroic, with two of the three maps going to overtime.



On the day, it could be put down to a number of reasons. ZywOo struggled to carry, while Spinx never really got into the game. If Vitality are to have a 2024 equal to their 2023, they need to wake up, and fast. But this was not just Vitality’s loss – it was also Heroic’s win. TeSeS showed his class, as did NertZ, adding an impressive scalp to the name of this thriving Heroic roster.

NAVI live to fight another day

NAVI live to fight another day! After dropping the opening map against Eternal Fire, NAVI showed impressive resilience to come back and take the series 2:1, dumping the Turkish squad out of the competition.



While it was w0nderful who really popped off individually, NAVI have its rifling trio of jL, iM, and b1t to thank here. All three delivered across the series, while Aleksib made up for his fragging output with some amazing calls. Now, NAVI face Falcons as they look to secure one of the final two spaces in the IEM Katowice 2024 Playoffs.
