Square Enix is releasing an update for the demo of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth today. After the first part of the demo was released at the beginning of February with a flashback episode to the Nibelheim region, in which you could play both Cloud and Sephiroth, the second part of the demo now follows with the title “Exploring the Junon Region”.

Exploring the Junon Region is a free update for the existing demo. Here Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Aerith and Red XIII reach the outskirts of Junon, a fortress city equipped with an underwater reactor. In this special preview, which takes place several hours after the start of the main story and has been specially modified for the demo, a small part of the extensive game world can be explored. Players can find treasures with the help of their faithful Chocobo, craft valuable items with the new “Synthesis” feature, prove their courage in exciting combat missions and discover much more.

In addition, a patch for the demo has been released, which is downloaded automatically. The patch fixes minor graphic errors and makes some adjustments

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the new chapter in the “Final Fantasy VII Remake” project. This new and independent adventure takes place on a large and vibrant planet. Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Aerith and Red XIII have escaped the dystopian city of Midgar and are now exploring the vast world beyond its borders.

To take down Sephiroth, a mysterious figure from Cloud’s past who seeks to rule the planet, these unlikely heroes must find new allies, such as Yuffie, the feisty ninja agent, or Cait Sith, a quick-witted robot in the shape of a cat. Lead these characters into battle to overcome their fate. Explore classic locations reimagined with stunning detail. Spend dozens of hours with rewarding side quests, combat missions, mini-games and the deep stories of the planet’s people and cultures.

On February 29 the title will finally be released exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
