A new Street Fighter tournament series has just been announced, the FlyQuest Fighter Series. This is a brand-new weekly Street Fighter 6 tournament. It’ll be an event covering two regions of North America. Both will be regular tournaments happening online, and even with a stream broadcast online.

This new tournament series is another expansion coming from an org that’s been dipping its toes into the world of fighting game esports since last year. After signing players like Punk, they’re now launching this full series. It’s focusing on a single game but it’s quite expansive in its scope. This is how it’s going to work.

FlyQuest Fighter Series

The FlyQuest Fighter Series is a new weekly tournament that’s about to launch. This is an online event that’s focusing on Street Fighter 6. The game is undoubtably one of, if not the, best fighting games of 2024. It makes a lot of sense as a first pick to focus on for a tournament.

The new event will feature both East and West Coast open ladders, each played online. Both of the events are 2-hour sessions. They will be free to enter, played in a swiss format. The matchups will be record-based. At the end of each tournament, we’ll see the top 8 for each region streamed by FlyQuest on their Twitch channel.

The first week already has its registration open. While the Capcom Cup X has concluded, events like this show there won’t be any downtime for SF 6, at any level. There’s a $800 prize pool put up each week too.

The FlyQuest Fighter Series is a fun addition to the current roster of events. It’s a great sign that orgs are showing more and more interest in the world of fighting games. Hopefully it’s just one tournament of many we’ll expanding Street Fighter 6 this year.
