FNCS Major 1 has just wrapped up, the first big tournament for Chapter 5 of Fortnite. Across each region of the game, we saw tense competition over the weekend. However, only a handful of Duos have managed to secure their spots at the end-of-year LAN.
Fortnite is a hugely popular Battle Royale, which has an understandably large esports community. The year’s FNCS concludes in the Global Championship but it’s these three regional Majors which decide which players move forward to that tournament. As the first tournament in Chapter 5, it was interesting to see how the best players performed in the latest meta. How exactly did the FNCS Major 1 results go?
FNCS Major 1 Concludes
In North America, the Major saw two pretty well-known players take the top spot. Acorn and Cold both came in first. They’ve won a large share of the prize pool but also a slot at the Global Championship. These two actually won the first Major back in 2023 too, so the pair has managed to do this back-to-back this year.
In Europe, two Duos of the best Fortnite players have managed to secure their spots. Although, only one can claim to be the Champions of the region for Major 1. In first place, came Merstach and Malibuca. They claimed victory at two DreamHack events last year as well as strong results in past FNCS tournaments.
Europe’s second-placing Duo also secured their Global Championship spots. This was Queasy and Th0masHD. This Duo is also past FNCS winners, back on top for Chapter 5.
All Winners in Major 1
Europe and North America Central are the regions with the two biggest followings, but across each region, there are players moving forward. These are all of the players who have been secured for the Global Championship.
Merstach and Malibuca (Europe 1st)
Queasy and Th0masHD (Europe 2nd)
Acorn and Cold (North America)
Cadu and Seeyun (Bazil)
Zagou and Shelom (Asia)
Kalgamer and 7man (Middle East)
Suns and vazen (Oceania)
That’s everyone who’s moving to the Global Championship. With each Major Fortnite esports tournament, more players will be locked in for this end-of-year event. We’ll have to see how the game’s meta looks when the new Fortnite Season starts for Major 2 though.
