Modern Warfare 3’s beta starts on PlayStation platforms today, and there’s little more than a month until it releases globally. Last night, the Call of Duty NEXT showcase took place, and it perfectly uncovered almost everything you’d need to know about Modern Warfare 3. From a viewer’s perspective, it was an end-to-end unveiling of the entire game – except for the campaign. It has given us the best image possible of what’s being delivered on November 10th, when the game launches in full.

From the maps to the weapons, and from the competitive platform to the perks, Activision’s development studios wasted no time in outlining what’s in store for players. There were interviews with some pro COD players and content creators, too – and the general consensus is that Modern Warfare 3 is a top-notch, fantastic title. It’s both a throwback through nostalgic maps and an innovative advancement over the top of Modern Warfare 2, which was released just over a year ago.

What Do We Know About Modern Warfare 3?

There are countless tidbits of information to relay from the COD NEXT showcase. It was such a revealing event, with Activision’s studios – Treyarch, Sledgehammer, and Raven Software – holding nothing back. During the showcase, we saw lengthy gameplay reveals for Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty Zombies, Warzone, and COD Mobile. It was a deep dive into the future of the entire ecosystem, and it told us more than we could possibly remember about what’s coming next.

Here are some of the best snippets of information that we took away from the Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer reveal.

The Largest Armoury in COD History

There are over 30 new weapons coming to Modern Warfare 3 in addition to all of Modern Warfare 2’s weapons that’ll ‘carry over’ in November.

Huge Collection of Maps

There will be sixteen maps available at launch – all faithfully recreated from Modern Warfare 2 (2009), with a further twelve maps being released post-launch.

Movement is Unparalleled

Modern Warfare 3’s movement is fluid and fast-paced, boasting slide cancelling, reload cancelling, snaking, and true ‘silent movement’ perks.

Perk System is Revamped

Perks are now ‘equipment’, and while they’re mostly the same perks that we’ve always had, they’re now fused in with items of clothing to boost realism.

Time-to-Kill Improved

For the players that hated Modern Warfare 2 because of how fast they were getting killed, Modern Warfare 3 boasts 150 health by default – ensuring parity with Warzone.

There Are More Weapon Parts

Aside from the hundreds of attachments that come as standard, players will be able to unlock impressive ‘aftermarket’ parts by completing challenges that are periodically released.

Competitive is Coming

Ranked Play will be deploying in Modern Warfare 3 with the Season One Reloaded update, making it the earliest appearance ever for the mode.

Could This Be The Best Call of Duty Ever?

It’s a claim that floats around with each new game – is this annual release the best Call of Duty game ever released? It’s probably not going to tick that box, but everything we’ve seen from the game looks remarkable, and even the best Call of Duty players in the world are excited.

From today, players can test out Modern Warfare 3 – provided they’re PlayStation gamers. For Xbox and PC gamers, the beta kicks off in a week – and after that, it’ll just be a couple of weeks to wait until the full release rolls around. Are you excited?
