The hotly anticipated Avatar game has finally revealed more about gameplay, story and open world – and it looks absolutely fantastic!

This is what many of you have been waiting for: At Ubisoft Forward today, there was a full deluge of info on the upcoming open-world game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, including a visually stunning trailer, which you can find above.

Story and gameplay: what to expect in Frontiers of Pandora

What is the game about? In Frontiers of Pandora, the story begins with the Human Resources Development Administration (RDA) spreading across the western front of Pandora. This organisation, which you already know from the movies, is searching for valuable resources such as the coveted mineral Unobtanium.

The creeps not only destroy nature and oppress the local population, but also kidnap their children and train them to become soldiers. One of these children is your character, with whom you start the game 15 years after his abduction.

Your mission is to break away from the RDA and fight them. To do this, you have to make friends with the various Na’vi clans, which is not so easy, as you are initially intruders for them and have to win back their trust.

What is the gameplay like? Avatar is a first-person action adventure game, similar to Ubisoft’s Far Cry games. We summarize the most important gameplay info from the presentation for you in a short list:

You explore different regions of Pandora, each with its own biome – from vast steppes to rainforests.

You can acquire different skills from different clans, such as martial arts with different Na’vi weapons or riding different ground and air mounts.

You can also use human weapons.

You must destroy RDA outposts, which has a positive effect on the environment and should heal the planet.

There is crafting of weapons, equipment and arms.

New skills are learned by connecting with the Tarsyu plant.

You can play Avatar: New Frontier in single player or two player co-op mode.

When will Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora be released? The release date of the open-world spectacle was also revealed: December 7, 2023, the game will be released for PC and on next-gen consoles.
