Get on My Level 2023 – Top Players to Watch

We’re in the midst of one of the busiest seasons for fighting games, with EVO 2023 just around the corner. If your favorite fighting game isn’t at that tournament though, (specifically your favorite platform Nintendo fighter…) then just before we’ve got Get on my Level 2023! This is one of the biggest tournaments on the horizon for Smash Bros right now, but it will feature a few other fighters too.

Organized by Even Matchup Gaming, this Toronto Smash-focused tournament will be taking place over July 21-23rd. It’s an event featuring quite a few of the top fighting games, with a lot of big players returning for the 2023 instalment. This is what’s going to be featured at the tournament and the best players to watch.

Get on my Level 2023

Smash Melee

Smash Bros Melee is one of the biggest events at Get on my Level 2023, the prize pool is a little shy of Ultimate at $5,839 for solos, but there are over 750 players signed up already. The sign-ups include most of the best Smash players at the moment.

Zain and aMSa are both attending the tournament. Arguably, these have been the two standout players of the last two years respectively. One plays a more conventional style but dominated the top flight for a long time while the other broke new ground with Yoshi. They’re two very different players but both at the very highest level of Melee. Also in attendance is Cody Schwab, Jmook, Hungrybox, Man0, and more. Get on my Level 2023 is basically a who’s who of Melee right now. It’s going to be a fun tournament.

Ultimate

The biggest Switch fighting game will also have a huge tournament at Get on my Level 2023. It’s got the biggest prize pool at $6,670 with close to 900 players signed up. There are also some great players attending this side of things.

MKleo and Sparg0 are both attending Get on my Level, two major players in the whole of Smash Bros history. Also here though are some more rising players, there’s Kameme the Japanese Sora player who’s been grabbing a lot of attention lately, along with Onin, maister, Light, Riddles, and even Sonix.

Ultimate’s players in attendance at Get on my Level 2023 show off just how diverse the top tier Ultimate characters are now. Very few of the major players showing up even use the same character.

Other Tournaments at Get on my Level 2023

Smash Bros is the main event at this tournament but there’s actually a bit more on offer here. Along with having doubles events for Melee and Ultimate, there are a few other games featured here too.

You can catch a new tournament for Street Fighter 6 at GOML. This is the biggest fighting game right now and it might be interesting to see how players fare at a Smash bros focused event in the newest fighter in the series. Guilty Gear Strive will also be featured, which is always a fun side event at tournaments like this.
