Arc System Works publish some of the best fighting games, but they don’t always sell evenly. Even among their more recent titles, Arc have a few which have failed to crack really impressive numbers, but it looks like Granblue Fantasy Versus isn’t one of these. We’ve recently learnt about new Granblue Fantasy Versus sales which say the game has just crossed 10 million units in total sales!

Not every fighting game can sell on the level of Smash Bros and Street Fighter. For a more niche title like Granblue, 1 million sales is definitely impressive. It means it is beating out more recent Arc games like DNF Duel that have been dropped from the Arc World Tour. With a sequel on the way, this is a bright sign for the future of the fighting spin-off franchise.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Sales Pass 1 Million in Total

This increase definitely puts it on the higher tier for recent Arc games. While the FighterZ sales are a multitude higher than this, that has the natural benefit of being a tie-in game for the popular Dragon Ball anime. In terms of a raw fighter, Granblue Fantasy Versus sales crossing 1 million would seem to make it a bigger success than many might have expected. With a sequel on the way later this year, it’s clear there’s an audience for the Arc’s fighting game spin-off too.

These latest Granblue Fantasy Versus sales definitely show the game has a lot of momentum heading into the new sequel. Even with big changes planned like the more modernized Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising controls, it seems there’s already a decently sized audience from the first game awaiting that sequel.

It looks like the upcoming fighting game release in the series might be getting more fans excited about the original. This boost in sales numbers could be due to a growing interest in checking the series out. The early access for Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising has already indicated some changes are coming, but this original game is a great place to get to know the core mechanics and gameplay first.
