It’s finally here! It’s time! Following the leak that revealed the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer ahead of time, Rockstar Games has gone ahead and released the entire thing almost 12 hours early. It has taken us more than ten years to get here, but we finally know what the next GTA game looks like. In the minute-and-a-half trailer, we’re teased with a showcase of Vice City, as everything from the map to the characters is revealed – but there are still plenty of questions to be answered.

At the end of the trailer, we’re also shown that the game will be released in 2025, which quashes rumours that the open-world epic will be released in 2024. It’s a long time to wait, but we’ve already come so far – what’s a little longer? Below, you can check out the trailer in all its glory.

In ‘Trailer 1’, which opens with striking notes of Tom Petty’s ‘Love is a Long Road’, we meet Lucia, the female protagonist of GTA 6. As scenes unfold, we’re introduced to the world and its characters through a series of cinematic sequences and fictionalised social media clips. From alligators to gas station robberies and from wild penthouse parties to monster truck mud racing, we’re given a taste of what GTA 6 will bring us when it’s released in 2025.

Here’s the trailer:

With the release of this trailer, everything that has been leaked over the last year or so is made real. For instance, last year’s monumental leak that revealed more than 100 GB of content from the project showcased the world and the main characters of the game – and it has now been proven that it was all 100% accurate. Within an hour, the official trailer has netted more than 3.5 million likes on YouTube, which is without a doubt something of a record.

Of course, it’s now up to eagle-eyed fans to scout through every frame of the trailer, picking out every detail possible. Here are some first takes:

Vice City is enormous, boasting swamps, beaches, huge urban sprawls, islands, and waterways
Social media and content creation plays a key role in the game
Many iconic vehicles are returning to the game
First-person mode was alluded to
There are multiple factions, including a biker gang, a Mexican organisation, a wealthy ‘Hip Hop’ gang, an a ‘Hillbilly’ group
There could potentially be a section where you play as a police officer

It’s important to stress that this is developing, and more details will be uploaded as soon as they’re made available.

For now, go back and watch the trailer ten times over!
