It’s almost time – the Halo World Championship 2023 is just two weeks away, and to celebrate, the HCS Team Bundles for this year have now been made available. In an exciting reveal, 343i uncovered the all-new Playoff Bundles that have made their way into the Halo Infinite store, allowing players to represent their favourite teams. It’s probably the most diverse set we’ve ever seen, with each one taking on a unique tweak that has been inspired by existing core armour sets in the game.
It’ll be a tough ask to pick just one for the more casual gamer – but for the hardcore supporters, the choice is likely already made. This upcoming tournament is the biggest Halo esports event of the year, boasting a $1 million prize pool and featuring the talents of the best Halo teams and players in the world.
Are you going to pick up a Team Bundle?
Halo’s New Team Bundles Are Incredible
If you buy one Team Bundle, you’ll see how it can be beautifully applied to any core armour set in the game. Each variant has been tweaked to work with any set – so regardless of how you equip yourself in battle, you’ll find that your chosen Halo Team Bundle still perfectly applies to your outfit.
Here’s 343 Industries’ breakdown trailer showcasing the new Team Bundles:
It’s a tough pick – even if you don’t rate a given team, you may still hunger for their Team Bundle. For instance, I’ve always been an OpTic Gaming fan and love the classic championship white mixed in with the green notes, but Spacestation’s coating is simply gorgeous. It’s sparkly and shimmering and reminiscent of space – that’s so cool.
There are some strange coatings in that line-up, though. For example, FaZe Clan has opted for a complete covering of sand camo across all armour cores. It’s not the most exciting pick, but it may offer a tactical advantage on some maps – which is a smart way to ensure the team sells more packs.
The HCS World Championship is Almost Here
Between the 13th and the 15th of October, the HCS World Championship will take place in Seattle, Washington. It’s the most impressive event of the year in Halo esports, and it’s where competitors become world champions. Last year, it was OpTic Gaming that lifted the trophy and OpTic’s Matthew ‘FormaL’ Piper became a certified legend of the esports industry, earning a world championship title in two different games.
Can the team in green repeat that performance and walk away with the $400,000 prize that’s reserved for the first-place squad? It’s highly possible – it was just weeks ago that OpTic snatched the win at the Fort Worth Major, almost refusing to drop a series, and that white-hot momentum could carry the team through.
