Fans have wanted to see Daniel Radcliffe as a superhero for years. And with Deadpool 3, the Harry Potter star is reportedly now really entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Daniel Radcliffe was allegedly cast for Deadpool 3. Which part he will take over and how big his role is not known. But at least one thing is certain: This would be a dream come true for many Marvel and Harry Potter fans.

For years, numerous members of the MCU community see in Radcliffe the perfect successor to Hugh Jackman as Wolverine – our colleagues from (Moviepilot) reported, for example, already 2019 about it. This even goes so far that the Harry Potter actor is regularly (in interviews) asked about it.

Daniel Radcliffe as one of many Wolverines?

With that being said, it would be anything but far-fetched for Deadpool 3 to take up this idea, at least as a meta-joke. After all, even Hugh Jackman himself is returning as Wolverine again for the film, after actually being done with the role with Logan.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that Daniel Radcliffe will actually become the new Wolverine of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but if a movie was going to make a direct mockery of it, the third Deadpool would be the most obvious choice to do so.

Officially Daniel Radcliffe’s superhero debut is not confirmed, but the info comes from the usually very well-informed insider (Daniel Richtman). That the actor from the Harry Potter movies would be so in shape for this, even a recently viral photo of Radcliffe would show:

What Marvel fans can expect from Deadpool 3

Anyway, we should see a whole range of familiar faces again in Deadpool 3:  From the X-Men and even Channing Tatum as Gambit to Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth to Jennifer Garner in the role of Elektra and of course old acquaintances from the previous Deadpool movies (like Vanessa, Dopinder, Blind Al, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Yukio and Peter). Only one fan favorite we apparently have to do without!

Furthermore, Deadpool is probably not the only Deadpool in Deadpool 3: Different variants, which comic readers have of course long known, such as Dogpool, Kidpool or Lady Deadpool are rumored to also have a role to play in the film.

How does it all fit together? According to current info, Deadpool 3 wants to directly address how Ryan Reynolds mercenary with the big mouth ends up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Different dimensions and alternate timelines play a key role in this, with TVA agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) from the Loki series also having a hand.

By the way, you can find the official trailer for season 2 of Loki here:

Deadpool 3 is set to release in theaters on May 3, 2024 Whether this release date is tenable in view of the ongoing Hollywood strike, however, may be doubted in good conscience. Fans should always expect a postponement while screenwriters and actors campaign for better wages and fairer working conditions

What do you think of the rumor that Daniel Radcliffe will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Deadpool 3? What superhero role would you like to see the Harry Potter actor in? What are your hopes and expectations for Deadpool 3 and are you excited about Hugh Jackman’s role as Wolverine? Let us know in the comments!
