If director Matthew Vaughn has his way, Argylle will be followed by at least two more films. One sequel is to revolve entirely around Henry Cavill’s super spy
After Superman and The Witcher, Henry Cavill has already snapped up the next big roles: But while Highlander and Warhammer 40K are still a few years away, things will kick off on February 2, 2024 first with Argylle.
The agent thriller comedy from director Matthew Vaughn revolves around the successful author Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard). Her books about super spy Argylle (Henry Cavill) curiously predict the future. And this is where the real Agent Aiden (Sam Rockwell) comes into play, drawing Elly into a global conspiracy:

Argylle 2 to focus on Henry Cavill
With a whopping budget of 200 million US dollars Argylle has to bring in a lot of money for its theatrical release on February 2, 2024. Director Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class, Kingsman) already has big plans for the future of the series – as he reveals in an interview with TotalFilm (via GamesRadar).
If he has his way, Argylle will get at least two sequels: While the first film will revolve around author Elly Conway, the second will be dedicated entirely to the fictional spy Argylle. For spoiler reasons, Vaughn does not want to reveal what the third part will focus on.
This makes Argylle an ambitious film franchise even before the official cinema release, while the direct novel has not even been published yet. In fact, the first movie revolves around the fourth installment of the series, while the second movie would be dedicated to the first book. Definitely confusing, but quite fitting: after all, the entire story of Argyle also takes place somewhere on several meta-levels.
Whether Argylle will be granted the future that director Matthew Vaughn has in mind for it will only become clear when the film is released on February 2, 2024. In addition to Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell and Henry Cavill, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson, Dua Lipa, Sofia Boutella and Bryan Cranston are also on board.
What are your hopes and expectations for Argyll from director Matthew Vaughn? How much do you like the trailer for the movie and are you interested in going to the cinema? Will you continue to watch The Witcher without Henry Cavill as Geralt or have you finished with the Netflix series? Let us know in the comments!
