How much is a LoL account worth? – Introduction

Even though each account will have its own unique value for each player, there are some tools out there that give an estimate of how much an account would be worth.

Even though they do not represent their real worth, it gives a rough estimate of what price tag for real money it might have, based on a number of criteria.

LoL Accounts criteria list

The LoL Account Calculator is a tool used to calculate the potential selling price of League of Legends accounts. It is based on five factors, so let’s break down each one and explain how important each is.

Rank

Rank is a measure of the player’s skill level in the game. The higher the level, the more gifted skills the player usually is. With how rare accounts are in the upper spectrum of the distribution, an account with a high rank will have an increasing value. Based on an example calculation, a Challenger account will usually be worth more than $100 dollars (with little to no champions or any added value coming from other criteria).

Server

With the LoL player base constantly over 100 million monthly users, Riot uses different servers to accommodate for such a volume and guarantee low ping and a great gaming experience for everyone. That being said, there are some servers out there that are more valuable due to their wider player base and thus, competition. For example, getting Challenger in Korea or the Chinese server is usually considered the most difficult goal to achieve. Therefore, the LoL calculator also takes the account’s server to estimate its value.

The top servers in LoL are the following:

EUW (Europe West) – Located in Amsterdam, Netherlands, this server has the best network infrastructure for European players, making it the most competitive server in the EU. It houses most of the LEC players,  and professionals whenever they compete in the region.
NA (North America) – Operating out of Chicago, the NA server is one of the oldest ones in LoL and remains one of the most popular in the game.
CN (China) – Having one of the two largest player bases in the world, the Chinese servers are extremely competitive. That being said, it’s impossible to transfer to CN from any other server.
KR (Korea) – Korea is usually considered the most competitive region in the world, with most esports players going there for boot camps. That said, obtaining a Korean account is quite difficult since they would need a SIN which is used to control internet access for players below 18 years of age.

Number of champions

Champions are playable characters in the game, and each character comes with different and unique abilities and effects. The more champions an account has, the higher the price will be.

Number of skins

Skins are special aspects given to LoL champions tem in the LOL, allowing players to get access to a richer and more customizable gaming experience. Since skins usually cost RPs (and therefore, money), an increasing number of skins will lead to a higher price.

Blue Essence

Blue Essence is one of the two virtual currencies available in LoL. They are typically earned by disenchanting champions shards and can be used to purchase champions, rune pages, and other items like Masteries. That said, blue essence does not give you the ability to buy skins. Regardless, having more blue essence will increase the account’s value.

Riot points (RP)

RP is the other virtual currency in League of Legends games, and it’s usually the most precious one. Aside from all the things you can buy with blue essence, RPs also give you the possibility to buy skins, special bundles, and items like Hextech Chests and Keys.

Since RPs are usually attainable only through in-game purchases, they are considered a lot more rare compared to blue essence. That said, nowadays players can earn some RPs everything month through LoL Prime Gaming.

Just like all the other criteria, the LoL Account Calculator will give a higher price estimate the more RPs are found in your account.
