How to change your name in Wild Rift?

You can’t change your user ID in the game right now. To change your name, follow these steps:

Head over to the Riot Account page and sign-in.
Here you will be able to change your game name and the tagline.
Once you have filled in the ID of your choice, click on Save Changes.

It’s to be noted that the Game Name is what will be shown when you are playing Wild Rift. The tagline is there to differentiate between IDs and to help your friends find you in Wild Rift even after you have changed your name.

The Game Name can be 3-15 alphanumeric characters long. Make sure to not enter any offensive terms as then you won’t be able to change your name. The Tagline, on the other hand, can be three to five characters long. The first two characters must be the region code you are in which can’t be changed later.

What is the Riot ID?

The Riot ID is a new initiative by Riot Games and is a common username across all games by the developer. Thus, if you play any other Riot title, the name change in Wild Rift will affect your Game Name across all of them.

Since this is a new initiative, Riot will be giving a free ID change on Nov. 20. After this, you will be given another chance to change your name within two months. Starting in early 2024, players will be able to change their name once more, but now they will only be able to change it after 365 days.

However, there will be an option to do a paid Riot ID change. Unfortunately for Wild Rift, this option won’t be available in the game. You can log in into either League of Legends or Legends of Runeterra and change your name in Wild Rift by spending either 1250 RP or 1000 coins, respectively.
