Fortnite is one of the biggest titles in recent years, becoming an entire metaverse as well as supporting a huge Fortnite competitive community. What’s more though, it’s entirely free. The Fortnite download is free for everyone, so it’s very simple to get started with the game.

Since this title isn’t on Steam though, some players might not know how to get the game. You can’t get started progressing through the Fortnite ranks and trying your hand at your first Victory Royale unless you can actually open up the game!

Getting access to the wide world of Fortnite is pretty simple. It’s only changed a bit over the years, with the game always remaining pretty simple to download and set up on your PC. Now Fortnite is more of a platform in Season 5, but things still haven’t changed. One download will get you access to all of the game modes. If you want to know how to start the Fortnite download on any platform (including how to install Fortnite on iOS), we’ll run you through it step-by-step. This is what you need to know.

On consoles, how to install Fortnite might be even simpler! All you need to do is open up the store for your platform, search for Fortnite, and then click download! That installs the game and you’re ready to start. Much easier than even the Fortnite Download PC.

How to Install Fortnite on Android

On mobile, Fortnite has gotten a bit more complicated to download lately. Since Epic’s legal battles with Google (and Apple before them), the steps have changed pretty frequently. As of Fortnite Chapter 5 though, it has become a bit easier. This is how you can install Fortnite on Android.

Got to the Offical Fortnite website
Follow their link to download Fortnite Android from the Epic Games Store
Install the Epic Games App
Download Fortnite

An alternative method is to download it from the Samsung Galaxy Store. There are also cloud streaming options here.

How to Install Fortnite on iOS

Now we get to the most difficult place to do the Fortnite download since Chapter 2, Apple devices. Since their legal fight, Fortnite hasn’t been updated officially for iOS or Macs. It isn’t available to install. If you have an old version of the game, you can still play. However, you’re bizarrely stuck in Chapter 2! Nice for a flashback to past Fortnite seasons, but not great for joining new events.

You can play modern Fortnite on iOS though. These are the services that allow it:

Xbox Cloud Gaming
Nvidia GeForce
Amazon Luna

Each of these are different ways to stream Fortnite on iOS. It isn’t quite the same as a native App. However, it does let you play the newest version of the game on iOS. in a quality that exceeds how Fortnite runs on mobile too. Hopefully, the native app will eventually make a return, but the streaming services are a great alternative. These are our full guides for using both.

Specs to Run Fortnite on PC

That’s how you can download Fortnite, but there are some cases where you might run into problems. Like all games, Fortnite has some system requirements to run. It might not be able to run on your PC. While not everyone has a setup to match Fortnite pro settings and their performance, the game can run on older hardware most of the time. Although, there is a bare minimum that you’ll need to hit. These are the system requirements you need to run the game after the Fortnite download PC:

Memory – 4GB
GPU – Intel HD 4000 or Radeon HD 7870
CPU – Intel Core i3-3225
OS – Windows 7/8/10 64-Bit

As long as you can meet these requirements, you can start up the Fortnite download and jump into the game! You’ll need slightly higher specs to really hit a decent frame rate and play at a good level. Everyone can join in the fun and run Fortnite on these specs or above.
