The Valorant community was quick to voice their concerns. On platforms like Reddit, players shared their frustrations, with many describing the audio as “borderline broken.” One user, IllumiNoEye_Gaming, highlighted the severity of the issue, stating that their own footprints seemed to emanate from behind them, weapon-switch sounds fluctuated between the left and right ear, and gunshots echoed as if they were miles away.

Another player lamented that the game sounded “as if it’s underwater,” making it challenging to discern sound directions.

How to Fix Valorant Audio Glitch?

  • Spatial Sounds Dilemma: A majority of players found relief by disabling Spatial Sounds in their Windows 10 settings. The root of the problem appears to be a conflict between the patch and Windows Sonic for headphones, leading to the audio malfunction in-game.
  • Riot Games’ Recommendations: Riot Games, the developer behind Valorant, suggests players steer clear of third-party software or hardware simulating Surround Sound. The in-game HRTF setting, when combined with other virtualization software, results in double processing, further complicating the audio.
  • In-game Adjustments: If the above solutions don’t yield results, players can navigate to Valorant’s audio settings and deselect the ‘Gameplay’ option under the Voice Over tab.
