Clash Royale is one of the most popular mobile games worldwide. The game was released by Supercell back in 2016, but the game continues to boast a huge player base consisting of professional as well as amateur players. To keep both kinds of players engaged with the game, Supercell releases a variety of content. One such content for the more seasoned Clash Royale players are Champions. These overpowered cards can only be unlocked through the Trophy Road and have special abilities.

There are five Champions in Clash Royale currently. Each have a special ability which can be used in battle by consuming elixir. These are as follows:

Golden Knight: The Dasheed Dash ability makes the Golden Knight charge forward to a ground troop.
Skeleton King: Lastly, the Summoning Souls collects all the souls of eliminated troops in the arena, unleashing them as Skeletons.
Might Miner: The Explosive Escape ability allows him to dig a hole and get to the horizontally opposite part of the map. He leaves behind a bomb as well.
Archer Queen: The Cloaking Cape makes the Archer Queen invisible to enemies and increases her hit speed.
Monk: The Deflection Dome will reduce the damage the champion receives and also deflect projectiles to other enemies.

How to get Champions in Clash Royale?

Champions are perhaps the toughest to unlock in the game. You can only unlock them through the Trophy Road. The number of trophies required are as follows:

Golden Knight and Skeleton King: 5,500 Trophies
Archer Queen and Mighty Miner: 6,000 Trophies
Monk: 6,500 Trophies

When you unlock a Champion, they will be at Card Level 11 by default. However, you can upgrade them upto Level 15 and make them even more powerful. You can get cards to level up the Champions thorough chests, the Pass Royale, and even offers in the shop. Also, you can only have one Champion in your deck.

How to play the cards without unlocking them?

The only way to play Champions without unlocking them in Clash Royale is through Challenges or Global Tournaments. Sometimes, these special events will have a deck builder allowing you to play with these cards.
