There is nothing more annoying than someone going AFK in the middle of a ranked VALORANT game. However, Riot Games has given some respite to players who face an AFK teammate in the first round itself, allowing them to make use of the Remake feature. With this, you can effectively end the game after the first round of a ranked VALORANT game. Here’s how to use the Remake feature in VALORANT.

How To Remake In VALORANT?

Remake was introduced in VALORANT as a technique to combat AFKs in the early game. In the past, we have seen some players go AFK just to de-rank themselves to lower ranks in the game. Thus, Riot Games introduced this feature in 2020.

One must note that the Remake feature can only be used in the first round. If a team does use this feature, the match will be called a draw and players will need to queue up again. Here are the following steps on how players can utilize Remake in VALORANT:

During or after the first round, open the in-game chat (usually by simply pressing enter).
Type in “/remake” to initiate a remake vote. This will only work if you have an AFK ally.
All players must select “Yes” by pressing F5 for the remake to pass.

Players can use the Remake feature following the first pistol round. If there is a player that has disconnected or is AFK then the game allows one player in the team to initiate the voting. Once the voting has begun, all players need to agree to it. If agreed the Remake graphic comes on the screen and the game is disbanded.

If the game has been remade, then none of the players will lose RR and will also not gain any experience. The player who was disconnected, on the other hand, will receive a penalty similar to that of them being AFK the entire match. Thus, they won’t be able to instantly queue into another ranked match.
