How to uninstall League of Legends

While League of Legends doesn’t take up that much space compared to other games, the League Client and the download of patch updates are getting heavier and heavier over time. Sometimes, uninstalling the game is the way to go. That said, doing this takes a few more steps compared to just downloading the game. Here is the guide on how to uninstall League of Legends.

Since you can’t uninstall League of Legends directly from the Riot or League client, you have to access the control panel to remove the game from the PC system. Below are the steps to uninstall LoL:

Go to the Start menu.
Type ‘Control Panel’ or go directly to the settings -> Apps.
Select ‘Uninstall a program’ below ‘Programs’.
Scroll through the list until you find the League of Legends
Right-click the icon and select Uninstall
The Riot client pop-up will come up and you just confirm that you want to uninstall the game.

If you’re looking to get more space on your hard disk, make sure to delete the additional files in the drives. Go to the file directory and delete all League-related files and/or folders. At that point, you completed all the steps necessary to uninstall LoL. If you run into problems during the uninstalling process, it might be worth checking whether the system has issues.

In case you want to download it again, make sure to have restarted the PC at least once. You can either download it again from the official website or if you still have the Riot Client, you can scroll to League of Legends and install the game there.
