After FaZe defeated G2 and Falcons bested hometown heroes ENCE in two thrilling Quarter-Final matchups, we’re already taking a look forward to the Semi-Finals of IEM Katowice 2024. With FaZe facing MOUZ, and Spirit taking on Falcons, there’s no shortage of quality in the final four featuring at the Spodek Arena.

To find out who’s going all the way to the Grand Final, we’re taking a look at the matchups for tomorrows matches – take a look!

FaZe vs. MOUZ

First to discover their fate at IEM Katowice 2024 will be FaZe and MOUZ, who face off for the first time since the Semi-Finals of the BLAST Premier World Final 2023. There, it was FaZe who came out on top in a straightforward 2:0 victory. Will things be different this time around? Potentially. Last time, we saw a MOUZ getting used to Brollan’s new role in the team. In Katowice, he’s been putting up star rifler numbers, which should help the gap close considerably.

Yet, still, we can’t shake the feeling that FaZe are favorites to win the entire tournament now, underlined by their dominant win over G2 in the Quarter-Finals. They just make winning look so easy, and even when they lose, it isn’t easy to pinpoint what went wrong. We’re going FaZe as winners of this particular tie.

So what maps will we be seeing during the upcoming Semi-Final between FaZe and MOUZ. Both teams seem to like Ancient, so that is likely to make it into the veto. The same goes for Overpass. As for the third choice? Based on IEM Katowice 2024 so far, we think Nuke could sneak in, making a total veto of Ancient, Overpass, and Nuke.

Spirit vs. Falcons

On name value alone, this Falcons roster is packed to the brim with big-name players such as Magisk, SunPayus, and maden. On that basis, it’d be easy to declare them winners of this match before a bullet is even fired, but we’re certainly not writing Spirit off here. With prodigy donk putting in an all-timer performance on his Tier 1 LAN debut, Spirit have the ability to beat anyone on the server, especially with sh1ro supporting donk on the AWP.

We think it’ll come down to a few key factors. The first is how donk deals with the pressure of the Spodek. The big arena is daunting, and players don’t know how they’ll react until they’re in the room with the noise and the pressure of the crowd. Then, there’s how donk plays with the new patch. Much has been made of the new CS2 update, which claims to reduce peeker’s advantage massively. As the King of “holding W and running at your opponent,” this could seriously affect how donk is able to affect games. Even still, we’ve seen the cracks in the Falcons’ defense of late, and we think Spirit will ultimately have a little too much to offer.

Looking forward to the potential veto, we think this should be fairly straightforward. Both teams play their share of Ancient and Nuke, with Mirage seen as strong for both, too. To us, a veto of Ancient, Nuke, and Mirage makes sense.
