In Warhaven, up to 24 players fight in teams for supremacy on a map. In the process, brute melee weapons are primarily used. The goal is to gain control of the map and to smash the opponent to pieces in brilliant battles.

~ (Here’s Warhaven) ~

This is the story: The battles in Warhaven have a higher purpose, because immortal god beings set their followers on each other in special arenas. This keeps them present in people’s minds and allows them to thrive.

Since the immortals can revive their followers at any time, their disciples beat on each other all the more heartily; death is not the end, after all, and a respawn is actually part of the game story here. For particularly deserving followers, the gods even have a special reward and temporarily transform them into immortals in time.

Wild Action with Finesse – The Features of Warhaven

Warhaven offers all fans of brute medieval action some features. The highlights of the game can be found in the following paragraphs.

Spectacular battles

Warhaven focuses on spectacular fights with lots of action. But the material battle is no wild button hammering without sense and reason. Rather, you have to use the abilities of your character tactically and cleverly outmanoeuvre your opponent.

To do this, you use evasive jumps, parries and feints to manoeuvre the opponent into an unfavourable position. This is the only way to guarantee that your strongest attacks will have the greatest possible effect.

In addition to mastering the martial arts, it is also important that you coordinate well with your team. Because even the best defender can’t hide behind his shield if he’s being attacked from the flank by your buddies.

The combat system promises a gentle learning curve, even newcomers quickly find their way in. With a little practice, a rank beginner can quickly become a hardened veteran.

Characters for every style of play

Warhaven offers you six different character classes at the start. They have such distinctive names as “Blade”, “Warhammer”, “Guardian”, “Martyr” or “Raven”. Each of these classes has its own way of fighting. Blade, for example, is well suited for newcomers, as the swordsman offers a solid and balanced selection of skills.

If you prefer it brutal and direct, reach for the Warhammer, which hammers its enemies into the ground with force. By the way, there are not only melee fighters. Some characters, such as Raven, are masters of sorcery and can use magic on enemies from a distance.

So there’s a fighter for every taste and play style, and each of these characters has a distinctive style.

Original maps and gameplay elements

In Early Access you can fight on five different maps. However, these are not desolate heath landscapes. Rather, each map is a unique battlefield with its own special features. Since the gods in the game themselves hold the thrilling battles for their edification, the battles take place in partly wacky fantasy areas.

Look forward to maps with mighty volcanoes erupting in the background or bizarre statues adorning the landscape. But not everything on the maps is scenery. There are also various pieces of war equipment on the battlefields. So if you are clever, you may be able to capture a catapult or even a big cannon and use it to fire at the enemy.

So there is always something going on on the varied maps of Warhaven, and there is always a crash and a clatter somewhere when your highly equipped warrior troops clash with each other. This only becomes really massive when one of the players manages to be reincarnated as an immortal. Then you have special powers with which you can lead your team to victory and really let it rip.
The game will be available as a Free2Play title on Steam from 21 September 2023. You can already take a look at Warhaven here.
