Interview with JDG Missing: “I give full points for Ruler’s performance today”

Missing did a great job supporting his bot lane partner Ruler throughout the series, protecting the ADC in all the teamfights. When asked about his teammates’ performance and what he likes the most about Ruler, Missing said:

I would probably give full marks to his performance today. It feels overall great playing with him: he’s one of the best self-sufficient ADCs out there and I’ve been improving thanks to him and the experience of playing together.

JDG was eliminated by T1 at the 2022 Worlds semifinals, so this win at MSI can be considered a “revenge” win for the LPL team. When asked about how JDG was able to bridge the gap and take down the Korean team, Missing claimed it was thanks to the new lineup, which allowed them to improve and increase their synergy.

JDG took Game 1 in convincing fashion but then dropped Game 2 after T1 drafted Tristana mid lane for Faker. Despite the unconventional choice, Missing and the rest of JDG expected the pick.

Things got tricky for the LPL representative when they dropped Game 3, but Missing and the rest of JDG remained confident and tried playing as usual:

T1 played that teamfight really well and ended the game immediately. That said, we didn’t feel a lot of pressure. We just did our own thing and weren’t really bothered about them getting the match point.

Thanks to some well-executed teamfights, JDG were able to tie the score in Game 4 and bring the series to Silver Scrapes. When it came to the last and decisive game, Missing and his team thought they had landed a great draft which allowed them to win.

Nonetheless, Missing still had high regard for T1, as he’s expecting them to be in the finals on Sunday:

I’m predicting T1 in the finals. They have a top-tier bot lane in Gumayusi and Keria and I believe their mid-support are the biggest threats.
