Karmine Corp have on “good track” to join the LEC

Karmine Corp’s CEO, Kamel “Kameto” Kebir, publicly announced at their own event KCX3 last month that the French organization was closer than ever to joining the LEC, and that we would have more details coming in October.

According to Brieuc “LEC Wooloo” Seeger, reporter from esports outlet announced at their own event KCX3 last month, those details have come in. In that regard, Karmine Corp are still seemingly in a positive direction to join the LEC. That said, Karmine Corp still have many steps to complete and no deal has been signed.

What’s more interesting, however, is that KCorp are not trying to merge with another LEC team or go for a partnership like KOI did with Rogue for the 2023 season. Contrary to some fan speculations, the French organization is in discussions to buy a spot with money earned through fundraising. The target seems to be Astralis, who are looking to exit the league. The Danish organization comes from a disappointing season, after becoming the first team to be knocked out of the LEC Season Finals and terminating their season early.

KCorp will still field a team in the LFL

According to the report, Astralis were already in discussions with the French organization last year. However, negotiations are much more advanced between both parties this time around.

If KCorp were to join the European League, the French organization would still likely going to be field a secondary team in the LFL, just like Team BDS and Vitality. Bot laner Caliste “Caliste” Henry-Hennebert would be the main player as he still can’t play in the LEC as the minimum age requirement will be raised from 17 to 18 next year. In the report, Seeger also mentioned Giants Gaming and Movistar Riders are in talks to join the LEC. That said, the negotiations are being held with other LEC organizations than Astralis.
