Brawlhalla is one of the best-funded fighting games. For years, this free-to-play platform fighter has had one of the best (until recently, the best, by a wide margin) circuits in fighting games. However, the genre as a whole often lags behind when it comes to fostering collegiate events. That’s along with Locals rarely getting support for their vital role. That’s just changed with some new support coming for select Brawlhalla collegiate events.

Along with announcing more partners that are highlighted this year, Brawlhalla esports will be officially giving support to locals and university groups. This will ensure that the highest level of Brawlhalla tournaments continue to get fresh talent, as it’s nurtured in these collegiate and local events. What tournaments are being included in this new system?

Brawlhalla Collegiate and LAN Support Announced for Select Partners

The new system for Brawlhalla tournaments will see a wider group of tournaments funded. This is all alongside the official circuit of events. It covers a selection of Brawlhalla collegiate events and extends to locals. The support for these events is a big step above what most fighters offer, although it is primarily focused on North America at the moment.

As well as overseeing the high-level Brawlhalla esports, official support will be given to a range of organizations running smaller tournaments. The new partners focus on a few specific events. There’s Toronto Brawlhalla Locals, a Canadian group organizing local LANs. The Georgie Esports League is also signed up to provide Brawlhalla collegiate events across that region. The other new partners include Brawlhbay and Moonlight, who also fields a team in Brawlhalla.

This new commitment will ensure that Brawlhalla is being played at every level. A lot of fighting games esports has a tendency to have under-supported locals, pretty disconnected from the developer-supported higher tiers. It’s these locals where so many of the top players have cut their teeth though. Supporting locals and collegiate events will help ensure a steady flow of skilled Brawlhalla players into the game. Hopefully, it’s a system will can be expanded even further in the future to include wider regions.
