One of the best top laners of his time, Dyrus has claimed that TSM did not give him a paycheck instead all his earnings came from streaming and streaming alone.

During an AMA session on X, Dyrus was answering questions when he came across someone asking what his peak salary was during his time in TSM, to which he claimed “I didn’t take a paycheck, all of it was from streaming.”.

Leaving fans stunned at such a bizarre response as considering his stature as a player during his time with TSM, Dyrus should have been one of the highly paid LoL players. He added that despite Riot being less generous during his time as a player, besides streaming, tournament winnings also account for a part of his income.

“forgot to add from tournament winnings but that’s beside the point. a lot of you guys who aren’t aware Riot didn’t give us jack shit back then and I retired before they started handing out big paychecks (franchising) since I burnt out on the game. (thanks 2v1 meta)” he added.

League of Legends has been one of the games where money has been no object at the upper echelons and LoL players boast some of the highest net-worths. Dyrus being a legend, fans would expect him to get enormous financial benefits from TSM.

He joined TSM in 2012 and stayed with the organization till 2017. In the five years he spent with them, he played as a pro till 2015 and spent the final two years as a content creator.

It has not been mentioned whether Dyrus was paid during his time as a professional player by TSM. It is entirely possible that he earned a salary in the first 3 years as a pro but the paystub stopped when he became a content creator for the team. However, on the off-chance that Dyrus did not get a paycheck during his 5-year stint as a player and content creator for TSM, it has to be morally questionable.
