A Melee streamer and pro player has run into trouble this week, getting banned from Twitch for his behaviour. It wasn’t anything to do with his gameplay in Melee though. The rising star in Smash Bros Melee might have his career cut short thanks to some mistakes. The Melee Pro has been banned thanks to drink driving on stream.

Bobby big ballz is a Falco player who has been rising up in Super Smash Bros Melee as of late. The player took 2nd at DreamHack Dallas Fighters Smash Melee event and even risen up the SSMBRank. However, his growing career and rising finishes could be impacted by this recent ban. After some misbehaviour on stream, he’s had his Twitch channel banned. It’s not the first time outside controversy has gotten a Smash player removed, there was quite a wave of this a few years back. However, it might be the first time we’ve seen a Melee pro banned for this particular offence.

Melee Pro Banned for Drink Driving

Bobby big ballz has run into trouble after something that happened on his stream in September. He headed to a store to get a bottle of wine. While driving back, he was already streaming on Twitch. However, he started his wine while on the drive back. Not only spending attention on running a stream rather than focusing on the road but drinking wine at the same time.

The streamer was hit with a ban from Twitch for his actions. He defended himself by saying that sipping wine on a 3-minute drive doesn’t classify as drunk driving. However, the Melee pro was banned still for the action.

This is going to cause problems for the player beyond just his stream. Fighting game esports tournaments that are broadcast on Twitch can no longer utilize the player. Airing a player who is currently banned puts the stream of the tournament at risk. This could mean the player will have to sit out tournaments for a while until the ban expires.
